Friedkin Group Set to Acquire Everton

The Friedkin Group has agreed to purchase a 94% stake in Everton from current owner Farhad Moshiri. This deal, subject to regulatory approvals from the Premier League, FA, and Financial Conduct Authority, is valued over £400 million. Led by Dan Friedkin, the U.S.-based group already owns Roma and would make Everton the 10th Premier League club under majority American ownership.
Moshiri, who has invested more than £750 million in Everton since 2016, has faced criticism from fans due to the club's struggles, including points deductions for financial breaches. The Friedkin Group aims to stabilize the club and complete the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The transaction follows a series of failed takeover attempts, including negotiations with 777 Partners and discussions involving Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor. Friedkin's commitment to both Roma and Everton suggests a multi-club ownership model aimed at mutual growth and success.
