Zubimendi's Late Goal Secures Narrow Victory for Spain Over Denmark

In a tightly contested UEFA Nations League match, Spain edged out Denmark with a 1-0 victory, thanks to a late goal from Martin Zubimendi. The game, held in Murcia, saw Spain field a depleted squad missing several key players due to injuries, yet they managed to control much of the play.

Despite Spain's dominance in possession, it took until the 79th minute for them to break the deadlock. Zubimendi scored with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box that deflected off a defender, slipping under Denmark's goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, who was caught off guard. This goal marked Zubimendi's first international strike and proved crucial for Spain, who now lead Group A4 with seven points from three games.

Spain's coach Luis de la Fuente praised his team's resilience, particularly as they had to navigate the match without several stars, including Dani Carvajal and Rodri. Despite missing numerous chances throughout the game, including a glaring miss from Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, Spain managed to secure the win, solidifying their position at the top of their group. Denmark, while disappointed, remained competitive and will look to bounce back in their next fixture.
