Modric has not ruled out participating in the 2026 World Cup

According to a report by Spanish journalist Jose Felix Diaz, 39-year-old Luka Modric has not ruled out the possibility of representing the Croatian national team in the 2026 World Cup.
So far in his career, Modric has made 181 appearances for the Croatian national team, scoring 27 goals. He has participated in five European Championships (2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024) and three World Cups (2014, 2018, and 2022), helping the team win one World Cup runner-up and one third-place finish.
According to the Spanish journalist Jose Felix Diaz, Modric, whose current contract with Real Madrid expires in June 2025, has not ruled out the possibility of playing in the 2026 World Cup for Croatia. For him, it would be even more ideal if he could achieve this as a Real Madrid player.
