Dani Olmo Shines in Barcelona's Victory, Aiming for More Goals

Dani Olmo made a triumphant return to the Barcelona starting XI, scoring twice in a 3-1 derby win against Espanyol. This match marked Olmo's first start since September, following a month-long injury layoff. His contributions not only helped secure the victory but also solidified Barcelona's position at the top of La Liga, now nine points clear after 11 matches. Raphinha also found the net, while Espanyol managed a late consolation goal from Javi Puado.

After the match, Olmo expressed his eagerness to continue contributing to the team's success, stating, "I feel good... I'm back, enjoying it, playing, winning ... and I want more." The Spanish international, who joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig for €60 million, has quickly made an impact since his arrival, boasting five goals in just five league appearances, with an impressive scoring rate of 1.67 goals per 90 minutes.

Barcelona's attack has been formidable this season, with a total of 40 league goals, making them the only team in Europe's top five leagues to have four players with at least five goals each. Olmo's return adds further depth to an already potent offense, which includes Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal. Despite their solid performance, coach Hansi Flick noted areas for improvement, particularly in the second half of the match, as the team prepares for their upcoming Champions League clash against Red Star Belgrade. Olmo also took a moment to acknowledge the recent tragedies caused by flooding in eastern Spain, showing solidarity with those affected.
