Vidal Arrested on Suspicion of Drugging and Sexually Assaulting a Woman

According to reports, Chilean football star Arturo Vidal, currently playing for Colo-Colo, has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in a drug-facilitated sexual assault. Several Chilean media outlets reported that a woman claimed she was drugged at a bar in Santiago, Chile’s capital, on Sunday. She had reportedly attended a party organized by Colo-Colo players celebrating a teammate’s birthday.
After this, Vidal was reportedly intoxicated and arrested along with other players, as they were allegedly trying to flee the scene when police arrived. They were ultimately taken to the police station, briefly detained, and then released. Prosecutors are now investigating Vidal’s alleged involvement in the assault, and it’s possible that other players were also involved.
Reports indicate that the victim had gone to the bar with friends, and by the time her sister arrived to find her, she was struggling to speak and maintain her balance. The 22-year-old woman is believed to have consumed alcohol and may have been drugged, prompting her sister to contact the police. The victim reportedly became disoriented after separating from her group and was left alone.
