Work Permit Delay Marks Start of Amorim's United Journey

Manchester United's new head coach Ruben Amorim faces an administrative hurdle before officially beginning his tenure at Old Trafford, as he awaits the processing of his work permit following Brexit regulations. Despite the delay, Amorim is expected to arrive in Manchester on Monday, following his emotional farewell match with Sporting Lisbon, where his team mounted an impressive comeback to secure a 4-2 victory against Braga.
The 39-year-old Portuguese manager, who was announced as Erik ten Hag's permanent successor on November 1, cannot officially commence his duties until the necessary work visa is issued - a requirement implemented since the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union. This transition period follows Ruud van Nistelrooy's successful interim spell, during which the team remained unbeaten across four matches, including Sunday's convincing 3-0 win against Leicester.
While the administrative process continues, questions remain about the composition of Amorim's backroom staff, though he has indicated his intention to bring in some of his own personnel. The new manager is scheduled to make his Premier League debut in the away fixture against Ipswich on November 24, following the international break. Although Amorim won't face the media immediately, he is expected to participate in in-house media activities before his first press conference at the end of the international break, marking the beginning of a new era at Manchester United.
