Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud returned this summer and served as interim head coach for the last four games. Ruud is, and always will be, a United legend. We thank him for his contributions and his dedication to his role at the club. He will always be warmly welcomed at Old Trafford. Other coaching staff, including Hak, have also left, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors. We will confirm the complete coaching staff structure for the men's first team in due course. (End of statement)

Van Nistelrooy returned to Old Trafford this summer as an assistant to Erik ten Hag, and was appointed interim head coach after ten Hag’s dismissal on October 28. He led the team to a 3-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League last Sunday, concluding his interim tenure with an undefeated record of three wins and one draw in four matches.

During the post-match press conference after leading Sporting Lisbon in what was his final game with the club, Amorim was asked about Van Nistelrooy’s departure. He commented, "This is about a club legend. He’s done well. I will talk to him tomorrow, and I will explain everything. I know what’s going on, and I’ll tell you the truth. Let’s wait until tomorrow."
