Bologna Reaches Coppa Italia Final with Win Over Empoli, Set to Face Milan

Bologna advanced to the Coppa Italia final after a 2-1 victory over Empoli, securing a 5-1 aggregate win. This marks Bologna's first Italian Cup final appearance since 1974, when they last won the competition. The match started in Bologna's favor with Giovanni Fabbian scoring early, furthering their commanding lead. Despite Empoli's attempt to get back into the game with a rebound goal from Viktor Kovalenko, Bologna sealed their victory with a late header from Thijs Dallinga.
With the win, Bologna will face AC Milan in the final at the Stadio Olimpico on May 14. Coach Vincenzo Italiano, who has now led his teams to four finals in three seasons, expressed his pride in the team's journey and dedication to their supporters. Italiano highlighted the significance of the final for both the city of Bologna and the club, emphasizing their determination to go all the way in the competition.
The winner of the Coppa Italia earns a spot in the Europa League, but Bologna is also on track for a potential Champions League qualification, sitting fourth in Serie A. Following their 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in Serie A, Bologna’s confidence is high as they prepare for their showdown with Milan.
