Thomas Müller Turns Down FC Cincinnati's Offer

Thomas Müller has rejected an offer from FC Cincinnati, choosing to remain in Europe despite the Major League Soccer club's interest. The 35-year-old Bayern Munich star announced earlier this month that he would leave Bayern as a free agent when his contract expires this summer. Cincinnati had the MLS discovery rights to Müller, meaning they had the first opportunity to sign him, though these rights could have been traded to another MLS team.
The move would have added complexity to Cincinnati's roster, as they are only permitted to have two Designated Players, but they could have adjusted this limit for a third player during the summer transfer window. Müller, a Bayern Munich legend, has had an illustrious career, winning numerous Bundesliga titles, German Cups, and UEFA Champions League trophies, alongside over 260 goals for the club. His remarkable international career includes 45 goals in 131 appearances for Germany and a World Cup win in 2014.
Despite the lucrative offer from Cincinnati, Müller’s decision to remain in Europe reflects his commitment to his legendary career with Bayern and his desire to play at the highest level. This season, he has continued to contribute to Bayern's success with six goals and six assists across all competitions.
