Shayne Pattynama Parts Ways with KAS Eupen After Short Stint in Belgium

Indonesian national team player Shayne Pattynama has officially ended his contract with Belgian club KAS Eupen ahead of schedule. Originally signed until June 2026, both parties agreed to terminate the deal early, marking the end of Pattynama's time at the club after the conclusion of the 2024/2025 season. Eupen, who finished 10th in the Belgian second tier with just 30 points, issued a farewell message thanking him for his contributions.
Pattynama's limited involvement on the field is believed to be one of the main reasons behind the early contract termination. Throughout the season, he appeared in only 17 matches, starting just seven and accumulating a total of 729 minutes. In the club's last five games, he failed to make an appearance and was left out of the matchday squad entirely in the final three fixtures.
Having joined Eupen from Norway's Viking FK in February 2024, Pattynama was brought in to help the team avoid relegation from the top flight. Despite his efforts, Eupen were relegated and subsequently competed in the second division, where his impact remained limited. With his departure confirmed, the 26-year-old full-back is now set to explore new opportunities as he continues his career both at club level and with the Indonesian national team.
