Dewa United Earns AFC Club License, Eyes First-Ever Asian Competition Berth

Dewa United has officially secured its professional club license, a significant achievement that positions the relatively young team for a potential debut in Asian football next season. Among 18 Liga 1 clubs granted professional licenses by PT LIB, only six— including Dewa United—qualified for the more rigorous AFC Champions League (ACL) licensing. This milestone confirms that Dewa United has successfully met the core evaluation criteria in areas such as sporting standards, infrastructure, legal and financial management, personnel, and administration.
The club’s president views this accomplishment as a major step forward, especially considering the team’s short history in Indonesian football. The licensing not only validates Dewa United’s professional structure but also opens the door for participation in upcoming AFC competitions such as ACL 2 and the AFC Challenge League in the 2025–2026 season. This achievement reflects the club’s commitment to long-term development and competitiveness on a regional scale.
With Indonesia allotted only one spot each for the play-offs of ACL 2 and the AFC Challenge League, Dewa United now finds itself in strong contention for one of those slots. The club hopes this progress will fuel the motivation of its players to finish the current Liga 1 season strongly, as league placement will be the final determinant of whether they can compete on the Asian stage next year.
