Persija and Bali United Eye Dutch Coach Johnny Jansen for Upcoming Liga 1 Season

Persija Jakarta and Bali United are both in search of new head coaches ahead of the Liga 1 season following the departures of Carlos Pena and Stefano Cugurra. As both clubs aim to refresh their tactical approaches, attention has shifted toward Johnny Jansen, the current coach of Dutch side PEC Zwolle, who is reportedly preparing to leave his post.
Jansen, who has been with PEC Zwolle since 2023, has managed 66 matches, producing mixed results. Despite the challenges, he played a key role in developing talents such as Eliano Reijnders and is now looking for a fresh challenge outside the Netherlands. His openness to coaching abroad has sparked interest from clubs in Indonesia, including Persija and Bali United, who are actively seeking experienced leadership.
Although no agreement has been finalized, Jansen has acknowledged receiving several offers from international clubs, with Indonesia being one of the possible destinations. While he remains focused on finishing the Eredivisie season with PEC Zwolle, his next move could bring a new coaching style to Liga 1, should either Indonesian club secure his services.
