Manchester City Targets AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders for Midfield Reinforcement

Manchester City is reportedly eyeing AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders as a key transfer target for the upcoming summer window. Manager Pep Guardiola sees Reijnders as a potential cornerstone in the club's squad regeneration, especially after an injury-plagued season exposed the team’s lack of depth. Reijnders' versatility in midfield, along with his consistent fitness and performance level, makes him a strong candidate to strengthen City's lineup.
Reijnders has had an outstanding season with Milan, scoring 15 goals and providing 5 assists in 51 matches across all competitions. Despite recently extending his contract, AC Milan is said to be open to offers exceeding £57 million, a figure that surpasses the transfer fee they received for Sandro Tonali last year. City appears ready to invest heavily, driven by the need for reliable and dynamic midfield options.
While Reijnders is a primary target, City is also keeping tabs on Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, who plays a similar role. The possibility of signing both players has not been ruled out, indicating Guardiola’s intent to significantly bolster the midfield. Reijnders, who joined Milan in 2023 from AZ Alkmaar, has quickly risen in profile and now seems poised for a potential move to the Premier League.
