PSBS Biak Rocked by Internal Conflict as President Director Steps Down

PSBS Biak has been shaken by the resignation of its President Director, Eveline Sanita, who cited ongoing internal conflicts within the club’s management as the main reason for her departure. Eveline had joined the club midway through the 2024-25 Liga 1 season and played a key role in leading the team, a recent promotion from Liga 2, to an impressive position in the top half of the league table. Despite the team’s success on the pitch, growing tensions behind the scenes ultimately drove her to step down from her role.

Eveline revealed that management disagreements and financial instability made her position increasingly difficult. She pointed out that the lack of unity within the leadership, interference in decision-making, and delayed funding from major shareholders led to operational issues, including unpaid wages and debts to vendors. These challenges, combined with mounting pressure from players and staff over financial delays, significantly affected the club’s internal environment and her ability to lead effectively.

An attempt to resolve the situation through a scheduled shareholder meeting was ultimately canceled at the last minute, adding to the frustration. Eveline emphasized her deep care for the team and its future, expressing admiration for the players and coaching staff who remained professional throughout the chaos. Despite stepping down, she pledged to stay with the team until the end of the season, ensuring they finish their final matches with stability and support.
