Real Madrid Secures First Summer Signing with Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth

Real Madrid is set to finalize their first major signing of the summer with the acquisition of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth. The Spanish club has been active in the transfer market, aiming to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. One key area they wanted to reinforce was the center-back position, as injuries have left their defensive options thin.
The deal, reported by Fabrizio Romano, will see Real Madrid pay a fee of £50 million for the 19-year-old defender. The payment will be made in three installments, extending until 2026. Bournemouth has agreed to the terms, allowing Huijsen to make the move to Madrid after a lengthy negotiation process.
Huijsen has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid, keeping him at the club until 2030. Although the details of his salary increase have not been disclosed, it is expected to be a significant boost. The young defender is currently in London, undergoing his medical tests ahead of his official transfer to the Spanish giants.
