Ragnar Oratmangoen Explains Absence from Indonesia National Team

Ragnar Oratmangoen has finally addressed his absence from the Indonesia national team for the crucial World Cup qualifiers against China and Japan in May 2025. In a post on his Instagram, the FCV Dender player clarified that the main reason for his absence was an injury, not illness as previously reported by a PSSI official. He emphasized that he has been in recovery and not dealing with sickness, as had been widely speculated.
The 26-year-old player expressed his frustration at not being able to play for his country, stating that there was no place he would rather be than on the field fighting for the Garuda. However, he acknowledged that health must come first. Oratmangoen has not played since March 16, 2025, missing the last nine games for his club due to his ongoing health issues, including a virus that has prevented him from fully recovering.
Despite his disappointment, Oratmangoen remained professional and committed to returning to full fitness. He pledged to work hard during the summer to ensure he would be 100% ready for the new season. He also extended his support to his teammates, wishing them success as they continue their World Cup qualification campaign without him. Meanwhile, coach Patrick Kluivert has called up six other forwards to bolster the team’s attacking options for the upcoming matches.
