Rafael Leao Faces Uncertain Future as Top Clubs Look Elsewhere in Transfer Market

Rafael Leao's future at AC Milan remains uncertain following a disappointing 2024-25 season for both the player and his club. Once a key figure in Milan’s attack, Leao ended the campaign on the bench, raising questions about his role moving forward. Despite rumors linking him to top European clubs such as Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea, none have made him a primary target for the upcoming transfer window.
Milan’s overall performance this season was underwhelming. While they managed to win the Supercoppa Italiana and reach the final of the Coppa Italia, their league form faltered significantly. Finishing seventh or eighth in Serie A, Milan missed out on European competition for the first time in over ten years, prompting internal discussions about revamping the squad.
Leao, who has a €175 million release clause, could be sold for a lower fee if Milan receives the right offer. However, interest from major clubs appears lukewarm. Arsenal have reportedly contacted Milan but have not moved beyond preliminary talks. Bayern Munich, meanwhile, are prioritizing other targets like Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma.
Chelsea, long linked with Leao, no longer view him as a top priority either. With all three clubs treating him as a backup option rather than a key acquisition, Leao’s career path remains in limbo as he waits to see whether a suitable offer will materialize or if he’ll stay with a Milan side undergoing major changes.
