Persebaya Bolsters Squad with Signings of Risto Mitrevski and Gali Freitas for 2025-26 Season
Persebaya Surabaya has officially added two international players to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025-26 Liga 1 Indonesia season. The club confirmed the arrival of Risto Mitrevski, a seasoned center-back from North Macedonia, and Gali Freitas, a dynamic young winger from Timor Leste. These signings mark the beginning of Persebaya’s recruitment phase as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
Mitrevski brings valuable experience and stability to Persebaya’s defense, having delivered a consistent performance for Dewa United in the previous season. Known for his physical presence and leadership, he contributed to a strong defensive record, including several clean sheets. His career includes stints across various European and Asian clubs, enhancing his adaptability and resilience at the back.
Gali Freitas, on the other hand, offers youthful energy and attacking flair. The 21-year-old winger made a significant impact during his time with PSIS Semarang, where he showcased his scoring ability and creativity on the flanks. His quick rise in Indonesian football has been complemented by an impressive international career, where he has consistently performed across different age levels for Timor Leste’s national team.
Both players are expected to play vital roles in Persebaya's strategy for the new season.
