Privat Mbarga Bids Farewell to Bali United Amid Foreign Player Exodus

Bali United is undergoing a significant transformation following the departure of head coach Stefano Cugurra, which has triggered a wave of exits among its foreign players. The latest to leave is star forward Privat Mbarga, who has officially ended his tenure with the club after the conclusion of the 2024-25 Liga 1 season. His departure marks a notable loss, particularly given his role as the team’s joint top scorer during the campaign.
Mbarga made a strong impact throughout his time at Bali United, especially during the 2021-22 season when he helped the team secure the Liga 1 title shortly after the league resumed post-pandemic. Over three and a half years with the club, he consistently delivered goals and assists, becoming a vital part of Bali United’s attacking force. His total contribution includes 41 goals and 32 assists across 133 appearances in both domestic and international competitions.
In the recent season alone, he recorded 10 goals and 9 assists in 32 matches, reaffirming his place as one of the league’s top performers. His speed, positional awareness, and ability to finish chances made him a constant threat in the final third. Statistically, he ranked just below Ilija Spasojevic in overall goals during his Bali United career, underlining his significance to the team.
Mbarga’s departure follows a series of exits involving other key names like Adilson Maringa, Elias Dolah, and Mitsuru Maruoka, as Bali United enters a rebuilding phase. The club expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors. As one of the most effective forwards in recent seasons, his absence will be felt, and the team now faces the challenge of finding a suitable replacement ahead of the new season.
