Adrien Rabiot Hints at Potential Reunion with Allegri at AC Milan

AC Milan has taken a significant step in reshaping its future by appointing Massimiliano Allegri as head coach for the 2025 season, replacing Sergio Conceicao who lasted only six months despite having a longer contract. Allegri's return to Milan marks a homecoming, as he previously managed the club and now signs on for a two-year term with an option for extension. His arrival has sparked speculation about potential transfers, particularly involving his former players.
One name gaining attention is Adrien Rabiot, who once played under Allegri at Juventus. After parting ways with the Italian club in 2024, Rabiot joined Marseille in Ligue 1 on a contract that runs through 2026. However, recent remarks from the French midfielder suggest he remains close with Allegri and would be open to working with him again, regardless of the team.
Milan may soon have a practical reason to pursue Rabiot. Their current midfield star, Tijjani Reijnders, is reportedly on Manchester City's radar, and talks of a substantial offer are circulating. Should Reijnders leave, the club would be left with a critical gap in the midfield that needs filling to maintain competitiveness in both domestic and European competitions.
Rabiot presents a strong candidate to step into that role. His playing style is comparable to Reijnders, and his prior experience with Allegri could allow for a smoother tactical integration. Beyond his on-field attributes, his familiarity with Allegri’s methods and mindset might make him an ideal fit for a Milan side in transition under their newly reinstated manager.
