Former Chelsea Star Lucas Piazon on Trial at Persib Bandung

Persib Bandung is actively strengthening their squad ahead of a busy season, with former Chelsea player Lucas Piazon among four foreign players set to join the team’s training camp in Thailand. Piazon, a Brazilian midfielder, will be evaluated alongside other trialists as Persib aims to boost their lineup.

With eight foreign players already on the roster, Persib faces the challenge of competing in both the Super League and AFC Champions League 2. New signings, especially from foreign slots, are seen as vital to deepen the squad for the demanding schedule. The upcoming Super League season allows teams to field up to 11 foreign players, providing Persib a chance to enhance their quality.

Piazon brings extensive experience from top leagues including the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Brazilian Serie A. Having played for clubs like Chelsea, Fulham, Chievo Verona, Malaga, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Botafogo, he is viewed as an ideal candidate to strengthen Persib’s midfield.

However, his signing is not confirmed yet, as he must prove himself during the trial period in Thailand under coach Bojan Hodak’s supervision. If successful, Piazon could become an important part of Persib’s squad for the upcoming season.
