Indonesian-Dutch Talent Demiane Agustien Joins Arsenal at 17

Arsenal has officially signed 17-year-old Demiane Agustien, a Dutch-born player of Indonesian descent. He joins the club from Derby County U-18 after spending two seasons there, following his earlier development at West Bromwich Albion's academy. Known for his role as a left winger, this marks his first professional contract.
Agustien made a strong impression with Derby, recording 16 goal contributions in the U-18 Premier League. His move to Arsenal was influenced by the club’s approach, particularly the involvement of Per Mertesacker, Arsenal’s Head of Academy and a former German international, who played a key role in convincing him to join.
The young forward expressed excitement about joining a major club like Arsenal and aims to make the most of this opportunity. He values the mentorship of former professionals within the club, which he believes will help shape his development on and off the pitch.
Demiane is the son of former Curaçao international Kemy Agustien and reportedly has Indonesian heritage through his maternal grandmother. He previously represented Curaçao U-17 but now plays for the Netherlands U-18 team. With ambition and confidence, he hopes to earn chances with Arsenal’s senior squad in the near future.
