Ange Postecoglou Takes Charge at Nottingham Forest with Trophy Ambitions

Nottingham Forest appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo who was dismissed after just three matches this season. The Australian returns to management three months after parting ways with Tottenham, where he guided Spurs to a Europa League triumph before being let go due to poor domestic form.
Forest’s owner Evangelos Marinakis made it clear that the club’s target is now silverware, believing Postecoglou’s track record makes him the right fit to elevate the team. His debut is set against Arsenal this weekend, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Forest under his leadership.
Nuno’s tenure lasted 21 months, during which he helped the club avoid relegation and remarkably secure a seventh-place finish last season, earning a return to European competition after three decades. However, deteriorating relations with the hierarchy ultimately led to his dismissal despite those achievements.
Postecoglou arrives with the task of stabilizing the squad while pushing Forest to compete for honors. With his proven experience in European football and reputation for building competitive teams, the club views him as the right figure to match their growing ambitions and challenge at the highest level.
