Hansi Flick Cleared to Lead Barcelona Against Newcastle

Barcelona’s manager Hansi Flick and assistant Marcus Sorg, previously suspended, are now allowed to occupy the bench after the club successfully appealed UEFA’s one-match ban imposed following last season’s controversial Champions League exit against Inter Milan.
The appeal partially overturned the sanctions, enabling both coaches to participate in Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League match, though they remain under a one-year probation. Any future infractions could trigger additional disciplinary action under UEFA regulations.
While Barcelona will cover the costs of the appeal process, the key outcome is that Flick can lead the team in his Champions League debut at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park, a match originally set to proceed without him on the sidelines.
Ahead of the fixture, Newcastle may be missing new signings Yoanne Wissa and Jacob Ramsey, while Barcelona will be without key players Gavi and Alejandro Balde, creating challenges for both sides as they prepare for the contest.
