Rifal Lastori Joins PSMS Medan on Loan to Revive Playing Time

Malut United FC has officially loaned Rifal Lastori to PSMS Medan for the 2025-26 Championship season in a bid to secure more regular playing minutes for the winger. His opportunities at Malut United had become increasingly limited with the arrival of several high-profile signings for the upcoming Super League campaign, leaving him mostly on the bench or even out of the matchday squad in recent fixtures.
The decision to approve the loan came after PSMS Medan submitted a formal request to bring in Lastori. The 28-year-old has already joined his new club in Medan, signaling a fresh start aimed at revitalizing his form and consistency. Malut United’s management and coaching staff agreed that regular game time elsewhere would be the best way to maintain his competitive edge.
Lastori is no stranger to Malut United’s success story. He played a crucial role in the club’s rise from Liga 2 to the top flight, earning a reputation as a promotion specialist. Over his time with the team, he made 36 appearances, contributing two goals and two assists that underscored his importance during the promotion campaign.
This latest move makes him the sixth player to be loaned out by Malut United this season, following earlier deals involving Rafly Selang, Aril Kurung, Aprilian Bernardus, Rifael Salmon, and Riki Togubu. The club remains hopeful that Lastori will return sharper and more experienced, ready to contribute again once his loan spell with PSMS Medan ends.
