Atletico Madrid Targets Aston Villa Star Youri Tielemans to Boost Midfield

Atletico Madrid is reportedly eyeing Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans to strengthen their midfield under Diego Simeone. The Spanish club is prepared to make a financially compelling offer that could be difficult for Villa to reject.

Tielemans, 28, was a key performer in the Premier League last season, featuring in 36 matches and logging over 3,000 minutes. He contributed three goals and seven assists while maintaining defensive balance and high passing accuracy, making him an attractive target for Atletico.

The proposed offer from Los Rojiblancos is expected to include a combination of a lucrative transfer fee and performance-related bonuses, which could appeal to Villa financially. However, the Belgian midfielder remains a vital part of Unai Emery’s squad, having been voted the club’s Player of the Season for 2024-25.

Negotiations are still in the early stages, and no agreement has been reached. Meanwhile, Aston Villa is managing multiple transfer issues this summer, including unsuccessful bids for Geny Catamo and a €100 million offer for Morgan Rogers, highlighting the complexity of the club’s transfer strategy.
