PSG’s Désiré Doué Suffers Serious Thigh Injury, Faces Weeks on Sidelines

Paris Saint-Germain winger Désiré Doué sustained a severe thigh injury during the match against Lorient, leading to a somber mood among the squad and confirming he will miss crucial upcoming fixtures, including the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

The scene following the 1-0 victory was tense as Doué was one of the last players to leave the stadium, moving slowly on crutches. The young midfielder had been struggling with form during the game but managed a crucial (almost) decisive pass in the 49th minute leading to Nuno Mendes’ winning goal.

However, the 61st minute proved fateful. In a final attempt to accelerate and cross the ball, his thigh suddenly seized up. Doué immediately cried out in pain, clutching his right thigh, and instantly realized the severity of the injury. Team captain Marquinhos and Ousmane Dembélé rushed to his side as tears streamed down the French international’s face, signaling deep disappointment.

Unable to walk off the pitch, Doué was stretchered off to applause from the Brittany crowd. Sources indicate the injury is significant, and the winger will be sidelined for at least several weeks. This layoff comes after he already missed a month of action in September due to a calf injury, further complicating his immediate future at the club.
