Heskey Suggests Dortmund Return or Serie A Move to Relaunch Sancho’s Career

Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes that a return to Borussia Dortmund or a move to Serie A could be the ideal path for Jadon Sancho to get his career back on track. Sancho is set to leave Manchester United as a free agent when his contract expires next June.
Sancho previously had a successful loan spell back at Dortmund in 2024, helping the Bundesliga side reach the Champions League final. Heskey believes that option remains highly viable for the winger.
"Sancho has a deep affinity with Dortmund in the Bundesliga, so that route is certainly feasible for him," Heskey told 10bet. "He was on loan there last time and the team went all the way to the Champions League final. So that possibility is there, and you feel he could always go back, especially on a free transfer."
Beyond a Dortmund reunion, Sancho has also been linked with several Italian clubs. Heskey suggested that a move to Italy might suit him, provided his mentality is right.
"I guess the Serie A might suit Sancho, but one thing he has to ensure is that he has the right mindset and is ready to work hard," Heskey cautioned. "The competition in Serie A is non-stop. For Sancho, it might be a 'wake-up call' in Italy, but that shock might be exactly what he needs to focus and get back to his best form."
