PSG Counter-Sues for €440M, Claims Mbappé's 'Continuous Attacks' Forced Legal Battle
Paris Saint-Germain issued a strongly worded statement today following a labour tribunal hearing, confirming they are counter-suing their former star Kylian Mbappé for $€440$ million, asserting the club had sought an amicable resolution but was met with "continuous attacks" from the player.

The legal dispute, which began with Mbappé claiming $€253$ million in unpaid bonuses and wages, saw both sides present arguments at the Paris Labour Arbitration Committee. With no settlement reached, the case now heads to court for a final judgment scheduled for December 16th.

PSG’s statement accused the 26-year-old French forward of acting against the club's interests. "Despite continuous efforts, Mr. Mbappé persists in using every opportunity, including the current legal process, to attack the club," the statement read, emphasizing that this was "a pity for the player himself and for French football as a whole."

The club defended its position regarding the non-payment of bonuses, arguing that the player demonstrated "malicious intent" by concealing his decision not to renew his contract for nearly eleven months (July 2022 to June 2023), which prevented the club from operating effectively in the transfer market.

Furthermore, PSG claims Mbappé reneged on a subsequent agreement made in August 2023, which included salary reduction terms intended to protect the club’s financial stability if he chose to leave as a free agent.

PSG concluded by stressing they "will continue to firmly defend its rights," citing principles of integrity, honesty, and respect for the institution. The former player is expected to feature for Real Madrid in La Liga this Sunday against Elche, while PSG focuses on its ongoing successful season.
