AC Milan is reportedly exploring a dramatic move to bring back veteran defender Thiago Silva, 41, during the upcoming January transfer window. The club is in urgent need of an experienced center-back to strengthen a defense that has shown vulnerabilities in the first half of the season. Silva last played for Milan thirteen years ago, making this potential return a nostalgic reunion.
The current squad includes Matteo Gabbia, Strahinja Pavlovic, Fikayo Tomori, Koni De Winter, and young Jan-Carlo Odogu, who has seen limited playing time and may be loaned out. Milan’s search for a seasoned central defender reflects both the thin depth at the back and the immediate need for leadership on the pitch.
Efforts to sign other targets during the summer, such as Manuel Akanji and Joe Gomez, were unsuccessful, prompting the club to reopen its pursuit of experienced defenders.
