Milan Intensifies Pursuit of Franculino as Transfer Battle with Roma Heats Up
AC Milan has turned its attention toward strengthening its forward line, with young Midtjylland striker Franculino emerging as a primary target. The Guinea-Bissau international, who also holds a Portuguese passport, has attracted widespread attention due to his rapid rise and impressive performances. His potential at the highest level has made him one of the more intriguing prospects in the current transfer landscape.

Midtjylland is believed to have already set a substantial valuation of around €40 million for the 21-year-old. Interest in the player extends beyond Italy, as Bayern Munich reportedly explored the possibility of signing him last summer before pulling back amid escalating competition. Milan, however, has been monitoring him closely for some time and sees him as a possible long-term solution in attack.

Milan is not alone in the race, with AS Roma also considered a major contender. Roma has an added advantage this week as they are set to observe Franculino firsthand during a Europa League meeting with Midtjylland at the Stadio Olimpico. The competition for attacking reinforcements has also drawn in Atalanta, creating a dynamic market where the futures of multiple clubs may intersect during the January window.

Beyond Franculino, Milan is tracking other young forwards such as Mateo Pellegrino and Joaquín Panichelli. The club’s transfer strategy could gain financial flexibility if Santiago Gimenez is sold, with West Ham reportedly showing interest in the striker. Any movement in that area may strengthen Milan’s ability to make a decisive push for Franculino.
