Real Madrid Draws 1-1 with Girona, Suffer Third Consecutive League Draw and Lose Top Spot

Real Madrid dropped crucial points in La Liga Matchday 14, settling for a 1-1 draw against Girona at the host's stadium. The result marks Real Madrid’s third consecutive draw in the league, costing them the top position in the table, which has now been taken by rivals Barcelona.
Girona took the lead in the first half when Tsygankov provided the assist for Ounahi to break the deadlock. Real Madrid responded in the second half when Vinícius Júnior earned a penalty. Star forward Kylian Mbappé stepped up and successfully converted the spot-kick to level the score and save a point for the visitors.
Despite Mbappé’s intervention, the reigning champions failed to find a winning goal, confirming their third straight stalemate. This dip in form means Real Madrid has relinquished the league leadership position just before the end of the year.
