Official: Augsburg Sacks Coach Sandro Wagner, Sky Germany Reports 3 Million Euro Severance Fee

Augsburg has officially announced the dismissal of 38-year-old head coach Sandro Wagner. According to Sky Germany, the club paid a severance fee of 3 million Euros to terminate his contract.
The primary reason for Wagner's departure was the team's poor performance. In his 14 official matches in charge, Augsburg’s recent Bundesliga form had significantly deteriorated, with the team securing only one victory in their past seven league games.
Although the recent 0-3 defeat to Hoffenheim was not the sole trigger, reports indicate that doubts about the future viability of the partnership emerged among all parties, leading to the mutual decision to terminate the contract within the last 24 hours. Wagner had only taken over the team this summer, recording a final record of four wins, one draw, and nine defeats across 14 competitive matches.
The club's Director of Development and former coach, Manuel Baum, will temporarily take charge of the team until the winter break, while Augsburg begins its search for a permanent successor.
