Kingsley Coman: Ten Years at Bayern Was a Unique Experience, Club is Part of My Life

French forward Kingsley Coman reflected on his decade-long career at Bayern Munich after the club held a tribute for him during their 3-1 victory over St. Pauli. He described his time there as an "irreplaceable, unique experience."
Coman expressed immense joy at returning to say a proper farewell, emphasizing the friendships he forged: "I made many dear friends here who are almost like family to me." He recalled arriving as a young player who barely spoke English or German, noting that football became his universal language, helping him integrate quickly. He singled out Joshua Kimmich, saying their bond, forged early on, made Kimmich feel "like a brother."
He felt at home from day one, stating that after ten years, "Bayern has become an indispensable part of my life." Coman highlighted the highs—like winning the Champions League under Ancelotti—and the lows of increased injuries. Despite his personal status not being at its peak in his final season, he called it one of the best of his career emotionally due to strengthened relationships with teammates and staff.
On his decision to leave at 29, Coman said he felt mature and in good condition, choosing to seek new challenges and experience something different in the final stages of his career. He ended with a message to the fans: "Thank you for accompanying me through these wonderful ten years... I will always keep you in my heart."
