Moyes: I Always Tell Grealish His Assists Are Good, But I Want More Goals

Everton manager David Moyes highlighted the importance of his team's 1-0 away victory against Bournemouth, particularly given the club's poor past performances at that venue. Speaking to the media, Moyes noted that Everton managed to capitalize on a potentially difficult period for Bournemouth, who were dealing with several injuries and suspensions.
Moyes praised the tight nature of the match and expressed satisfaction with securing the three points. He specifically complimented the performances of the midfield, noting that Idrissa Gueye successfully limited Antoine Semenyo, and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg excelled in a deeper role due to the absence of other midfield options. The coach was pleased with the team's ability to bounce back from a recent disappointing loss and maintain several clean sheets.
Regarding forward Thierno Barry, Moyes acknowledged his improved form and potential but stressed that as a number nine, he must ultimately justify his role with more goals.
Turning his attention to Jack Grealish, Moyes affirmed the player's importance, crediting him for his consistent playing time and overall contribution in terms of assists and goals. The manager frequently advises Grealish that while his ability to assist is excellent, he would prefer to see him find the back of the net more often. Moyes concluded that Grealish is a vital player who is instrumental in the progress of the Everton team.
