Wiliam Marcilio’s Absence Fuels Stronger Indications of a Mid-Season Exit from Persib

Wiliam Marcilio’s future at Persib Bandung appears increasingly uncertain after he was absent from a recent training session at the GBLA training field. The team had begun preparations for their upcoming match against Borneo FC, with several players missing for legitimate reasons such as fatigue or injury. Marcilio’s situation stood out because he was not dealing with any physical setbacks, intensifying speculation that he may soon depart during the mid-season transfer window.

Within the coaching staff, it has become clear that Marcilio is no longer part of the team’s plans. Assistant coach Igor Tolic stated that the Brazilian midfielder’s status is now a matter for club management to finalize. His remarks indicated that the coaching team had already stepped away from the decision-making process regarding the player’s future.

Tolic also shared that he had not engaged in personal discussions with Marcilio, suggesting a lack of direct communication between the player and the coaching staff. This reinforced the notion that the decision surrounding Marcilio had progressed beyond the training ground and into administrative hands. The absence of farewells or formal dialogue added further weight to rumors of an impending exit.

Speculation surrounding Marcilio’s departure had been circulating since the previous week, following Persib’s match against Lion City Sailors in Singapore. Reports suggested the club was evaluating its foreign player slots and considering changes ahead of the season’s second half. His name quickly emerged among those potentially on the move.

The midfielder’s exclusion from Persib’s match against Madura United also contributed to the growing belief that his time with the club was nearing an end. He had been left out due to performance-related decisions, signaling a shift in the team’s direction and opening the door for possible roster adjustments.
