Inter and PSG Locked in Pursuit of Manu Koné as Roma Stand Firm on January Exit

Inter Milan continue to show strong interest in Manu Koné, keeping the French midfielder high on their recruitment list despite competition from Paris Saint-Germain. The club has viewed him as a long-term fit for their midfield ever since the summer, when Cristian Chivu identified him as an ideal addition for the squad’s future.
Inter explored the possibility of a deal months earlier but were unable to reach an agreement. Reports suggest that Koné remains a dream signing for the Nerazzurri, who still see him as a player capable of elevating their midfield options. However, the situation is complicated by Roma’s firm stance on his availability.
Roma secured Koné for 18 million euros, but his value has risen sharply, now estimated at more than 50 million euros. The price could increase further with the World Cup approaching, especially as major European clubs, including PSG, continue to monitor him closely. His childhood support for PSG adds another layer of interest to the situation.
Among Italian teams, Inter remain the most committed contender. Last summer, they were prepared to offer around 40 million euros plus bonuses, a figure that still fell short of Roma’s valuation. Roma’s ownership considers Koné one of their untouchable assets, reinforcing the club’s determination not to let him go during the January window.
Even so, the landscape may shift at the end of the season. Roma are expected to seek fresh revenue in the summer, which could open the door for a major sale. If that happens, Koné may emerge as one of the prime candidates to be moved, potentially reigniting the transfer battle between Inter and PSG.
