Kane Will Not Activate Release Clause and Plans Contract Talks Post-World Cup; Barça Never Serious

According to a column by Bild Editor-in-Chief Christian Falk, Harry Kane (32) will not activate the release clause in his Bayern Munich contract this winter and intends to discuss an extension with the club after the 2026 World Cup.
Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for a base fee of €95 million, has a contract running until 2027. Honorary President Uli Hoeneß recently confirmed the existence of a clause, first reported in February 2025, which would allow Kane to leave for €65 million in the summer following the World Cup, provided it is triggered by January 31st.
However, Bild reveals that the striker is so comfortable in Munich that he has decided against triggering the clause and is instead looking ahead to discuss a new contract after the tournament.
Despite persistent rumors linking him to a Premier League return to chase Alan Shearer's record, the report suggests that winning more titles with Bayern Munich is currently more important to Kane than breaking the scoring record. Furthermore, rumors linking Kane to Barcelona are deemed untrue; Bild learned that the transfer was only mentioned once internally and never seriously discussed by the Catalan club.
