​Injured Arsenal star Gabriel 'involved in furious bust-up as defender rushes on to pitch after being left angry at tackle while watching his dad play six-a-side'

Injured Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has been involved in bust-up during a six-a-side game in Peckham that his dad was playing in.

While the 27-year-old was not playing himself, he showed his usual combative and confrontational streak usually reserved for Premier League opponents.

The Brazilian, who is out injured until January having picked up an adductor problem on international duty, was seen in a bizarre spat at the London kickabout.

In a clip obtained by the Sun, the defender, wearing a black hoodie and cap, can be seen wildly gesticulating and shouting in Portuguese for a few seconds.

He seems furious and reportedly had sprinted across the pitch from the touchline having seen a horror tackle on his dad's side.

Another spectator told the Sun: 'It was really unexpected. He didn’t look injured when he sprinted across the pitch to get involved.

The nasty tackle put an end to the game early in a fixture arranged between fans of Botafogo, the Brazilian club.

Mikel Arteta may remind the defender to look after himself after the footage emerged of his aggressive outburst.

The Gunners have been missing the former Lille man at the back since he suffered his injury for Brazil against Senegal at the Emirates on November 15.

He is expected to return in January, which will be a huge relief for Arsenal, who are currently experiencing an injury crisis.

Gabriel's centre-back partner William Saliba has also been out of action, though the Frenchman is expected back soon, while Cristhian Mosquera is facing weeks out.

For their Champions League trip to Club Bruges on Tuesday, Leandro Trossard and Max Dowman didn’t travel because of a knock and ankle injury respectively, while Declan Rice missed out due to illness.



It takes Arsenal’s injury total to 95 (excluding Rice’s illness) since the start of the last Premier League season — only Brighton have had more (97).

Arteta has insisted he does not overtrain his stars despite regularly missing key players.

Earlier this week, he said: ' No (they don’t overtrain), because we don't train. I mean, today we've done 20 minutes, so surely it's not because we overtrained the players.

‘But obviously the fact that you are missing players, you are loading other players more, there’s a consequence to that and it's a really dangerous circle.

‘In terms of what happened in the past, we are not having more injuries.

‘The fact is that we had some others that are long term and they haven't been with us since the beginning of the season.’
