Second-Round Transfer Window Heats Up Early as Five Super League Clubs Make Their Moves

The second-round transfer window of the 2025-26 BRI Super League is already buzzing with activity, despite not being officially open yet. As of late December, five clubs have confirmed new signings, signaling an early push to strengthen squads ahead of the decisive phase of the season.
Although the transfer window is scheduled to run from January 10 to February 6, 2026, clubs are allowed to secure players in advance. These new recruits can immediately join team training sessions, giving them valuable time to adapt, even though they cannot yet be registered or fielded in official matches.
Semen Padang have emerged as one of the most aggressive teams in the market following underwhelming results in the first round. Under coach Dejan Antonic, the club reshuffled its foreign contingent by releasing two overseas players and bringing in three new imports, including experienced midfielder Boubakary Diarra, who is expected to add stability and quality to the midfield.
League leaders Borneo FC have also been proactive, reinforcing their attacking options by signing Marcos Astina from Argentina’s second division. The versatile forward offers flexibility across multiple attacking roles and arrives with a solid record of goals and assists, reflecting the club’s ambition to maintain momentum at the top of the table.
Meanwhile, Bali United opted for a youthful approach by recruiting Japanese international Teppei Yachida, while Madura United and Bhayangkara FC also made notable roster adjustments. With several clubs already reshaping their squads before the window officially opens, the second round of the Super League is set to begin with heightened competition and renewed intensity.
