Exclusive: Havertz and Ben White Set for Potential Return Against Aston Villa

According to the independent Arsenal outlet HandofArsenal, Kai Havertz has been included in the provisional squad for tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa on December 30, 2025. The German international, who has been sidelined since August with a knee injury, recently returned to full training. While he narrowly missed out on the matchday squad for the previous game against Brighton, reports suggest he is now firmly in contention, with a final decision on his involvement to be made on the morning of the match.
In a further boost for Mikel Arteta, Ben White is also rumored to have a chance of making the squad for the Villa game. White has been recovering from a hamstring strain sustained earlier in December, and while his initial return was projected for mid-January, he is reportedly a "fast healer" and has progressed ahead of schedule. His inclusion would provide vital defensive reinforcement for the league leaders, who are currently dealing with several injuries in the backline.
The return of Havertz, in particular, is seen as a significant lift for an Arsenal attack that has relied heavily on Viktor Gyökeres during the festive period. Arteta previously noted that Havertz brings a "different dimension" to the team, and his availability for the year-end fixture at the Emirates Stadium could be crucial in maintaining Arsenal’s two-point lead at the top of the table.
