Plettenberg: Tottenham Not Pursuing Goretzka; Midfielder Likely to Stay at Bayern

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham Hotspur is not currently working on a deal to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka. Despite various external reports linking the 30-year-old to North London, Plettenberg has explicitly denied these claims, stating there is no concrete activity from Spurs to secure his transfer in the upcoming January window.
As of late December 2025, there are no indications that Goretzka will leave Bayern Munich mid-season. Although his contract is set to expire in June 2026, he remains a valued part of Vincent Kompany’s squad. The manager reportedly holds Goretzka in high regard, particularly for his professionalism and recent on-field contributions, making a winter departure "out of the question" for the club’s hierarchy.
While other clubs such as Napoli and Atletico Madrid have been mentioned as potential suitors, Bayern appears intent on keeping their squad intact for their title charge and European campaign. For Goretzka, his immediate focus remains on fighting for minutes in Munich to secure his place in Germany’s 2026 World Cup plans. Unless a massive offer arrives, the veteran midfielder is expected to see out the remainder of the season at the Allianz Arena.
