PSBS Biak Hit by Financial Crisis After Painful Relegation Season
PSBS Biak continue to face serious financial problems even after the end of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League season. Reports revealed that players and staff have still not received several months of unpaid salaries, creating further uncertainty around the club's future.
The Pacific Storm struggled throughout the campaign and eventually finished at the bottom of the league table. PSBS collected only 18 points from 34 matches, recording four wins, six draws, and 24 defeats before being officially relegated to Liga 2 for next season.
The club's financial difficulties also weakened the squad during the closing stages of the season. Many senior players reportedly decided to leave before the competition ended, forcing PSBS to rely heavily on young players and academy talents in their final two matches.
Brazilian winger Luquinhas spoke openly about the difficult situation and expressed hope that the management would soon fulfill its obligations to everyone involved at the club. Despite the team's disappointing season, the 29-year-old still managed to deliver solid performances with seven goals and six assists in 31 appearances.
Although his first season in Indonesia was filled with challenges, Luquinhas still praised the overall quality of Indonesian football. He viewed the competition level in the Super League as strong and believed the league has the potential to continue growing into one of the best in Asia.
