Cristian Chivu Set for Long-Term Future at Inter Milan After Dream Debut Season
Cristian Chivu is set to continue his journey with Inter Milan after agreeing to a new long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2028. The deal is reportedly close to being finalized, with only the official signing left before the announcement is made.
Following Inter's final Serie A match against Bologna, Chivu expressed his desire to spend time resting with his family before beginning preparations for the next campaign. Despite the short break ahead, the club has prioritized completing the long-awaited contract extension as soon as possible.
Italian media reports indicate that all major details between both parties have already been settled. Discussions regarding agent fees and contractual terms have been completed, leaving the agreement as little more than a formality before it becomes official.
Chivu's new contract will reportedly include an option for an additional season and a significant salary increase. After earning around two million euros during his first season, the Romanian coach is now expected to receive close to four million euros per year along with performance-related bonuses.
The extension reflects Inter's strong confidence in Chivu after a remarkable debut campaign. His leadership helped the Nerazzurri secure both the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia, while his commitment and attention to detail throughout the season earned praise from club president Giuseppe Marotta and the club's management.
