Kurzawa's Brief but Memorable Persib Journey Ends with a Championship Triumph
Layvin Kurzawa has officially ended his short spell with Persib Bandung after spending just five months at the club. Despite the limited duration of his stay, the former French international leaves with valuable memories and the distinction of being part of the team that captured the 2025/26 Super League title.
The defender joined Persib in January 2026 and quickly became a high-profile addition to the squad. Although his playing time was restricted, his arrival attracted considerable attention and added international experience to the reigning champions' roster during the second half of the season.
Kurzawa made nine appearances across all competitions, including matches in the AFC Champions League Two and the domestic league. In the Super League, he featured seven times and recorded one assist, helping Persib stage an impressive comeback victory against Bhayangkara FC after initially falling two goals behind.
His campaign was affected by fitness concerns and injury setbacks, limiting his opportunities to establish a consistent presence in the starting lineup. As a result, he accumulated only 158 minutes of playing time throughout his tenure with the club.
Even with those challenges, Kurzawa's time in Bandung concluded on a positive note. He departs with a league championship medal and a strong connection to the club's passionate supporters, making his brief chapter with Persib a memorable one despite its short duration.
