Persija Strengthens Goalkeeping Unit with Former Persib Shot-Stopper Aqil Savik

Persija Jakarta has stepped up its activity in the 2025/2026 Super League transfer market by confirming the signing of goalkeeper Aqil Savik. The 27-year-old joins the club from Bhayangkara FC on a one-year contract, becoming the team's second official signing ahead of the new campaign as the club looks to reinforce its squad.

The club's management expressed confidence that Aqil's performances in the previous Super League season demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level. Officials believe his experience and consistency will provide valuable depth and strengthen competition within Persija's goalkeeping department throughout the season.

Aqil arrives after serving as Bhayangkara FC's first-choice goalkeeper, where he made 30 league appearances, conceded 39 goals, and recorded nine clean sheets. Before his time with Bhayangkara, he represented Persib Bandung, making Persija the third professional club of his career in Indonesian football.

The goalkeeper described the move as an important milestone that offers both a fresh challenge and an opportunity to continue developing his career. He also highlighted Persija's rich history, ambitious vision, and passionate supporters as major factors behind his decision to join the Jakarta-based club.

With Aqil's arrival, Persija now has four goalkeepers in its senior squad alongside Andritany Ardhiyasa, Cyrus Margono, and Hafizh Rizkianur. Across his domestic league career, Aqil has played 57 matches, conceded 76 goals, and kept 15 clean sheets, bringing valuable experience as the club prepares for the upcoming Super League season.
