Inter Milan Sign Ivan Provedel to Reinforce Goalkeeping Options
Inter Milan have officially completed the signing of goalkeeper Ivan Provedel from Lazio in a deal worth €3 million. The experienced shot-stopper has signed a contract until June 2029 as the club strengthens its squad ahead of the new season.
The move marks a dream opportunity for Provedel, who supported Inter Milan during his childhood. He is expected to compete with Josep Martinez for a starting place following the departure of Yann Sommer.
Provedel's professional journey has taken him through several Italian clubs after developing in the youth systems of Udinese and Chievo. He established himself as a reliable Serie A goalkeeper during his time at Spezia, which earned him a transfer to Lazio in 2022.
Despite his experience, the 32-year-old arrives at Inter while recovering from a serious shoulder injury that required surgery last season. His return to competitive action is expected later in August, meaning the club may have to wait before he makes his debut.
Although he has received several call-ups to the Italian national team, Provedel has yet to earn his first senior international appearance. Inter hope his experience and quality will strengthen their goalkeeping department once he is fully fit.
