Persija Land South Korea Star Kwon Chang-hoon in Major Transfer Coup

Persija Jakarta have strengthened their squad for the 2026/27 season by signing former South Korea international Kwon Chang-hoon on a two-year contract. The versatile midfielder is expected to play a central role in the club's pursuit of the Super League title.

Kwon arrives with an impressive résumé, having represented European clubs Dijon FCO in France and SC Freiburg in Germany. He also earned 43 international caps for South Korea, scoring 12 goals and competing at the highest level of world football.

Known for his versatility, Kwon is capable of playing on either wing or as an attacking midfielder. His technical quality, creativity, and experience are expected to add greater attacking variety to Persija's frontline.

The club believe the experienced playmaker will adapt quickly to Indonesian football, with confidence growing that his background and professionalism will help him settle into the squad. His arrival is viewed as one of the team's most significant additions ahead of the new campaign.

Kwon also welcomed the opportunity to begin a new chapter in Southeast Asia after following the growth of Indonesian football in recent years. His signing underlines Persija's ambition to assemble a title-contending squad capable of competing for major honors in the 2026/27 season.
