Persib Secure Key Foreign Trio with New Contracts Until 2028
Persib Bandung have strengthened their long-term plans by extending the contracts of three foreign players, Patricio Matricardi, Uilliam Barros, and Ramon Tanque, until 2028. The decision reflects the club's confidence in the trio after their significant contributions during the Super League 2025/2026 title-winning campaign.
Club management explained that the contract extensions were made based on the coaching staff's recommendation. Head coach Igor Tolic considers all three players essential to the squad as Persib prepare for a demanding 2026/2027 season that will see the team compete in four different competitions.
Matricardi established himself as one of the league's most reliable defenders last season, helping Persib record the best defensive record with only 22 goals conceded in 34 league matches. His consistency at the back played a major role in the club's championship success.
Meanwhile, Barros and Ramon Tanque provided valuable attacking firepower. Both forwards scored eight league goals during the 2025/2026 campaign, finishing just behind Andrew Jung among the club's leading scorers. Their ability to contribute consistently in front of goal has made them important pieces of Persib's attacking lineup.
By securing the trio on long-term deals, Persib aim to maintain squad stability while pursuing even greater ambitions in domestic and Asian competitions. The club believes their experience, quality, and familiarity with the team's system will be crucial as Persib seek to remain competitive and challenge for more trophies in the coming seasons.
