Fiorentina Sack Fabio Grosso After Three Straight Serie A Defeats

Fiorentina have parted ways with Fabio Grosso after a disastrous start to the new Serie A campaign. The decision came after La Viola suffered defeats in each of their first three league matches, with the poor results reportedly accompanied by growing tension between Grosso and club director Fabio Paratici.

Fiorentina's struggles began with a heavy 4-0 loss to Roma before they were beaten 3-0 at home by newly promoted Frosinone. Their difficult opening continued against Torino, who secured a 2-1 victory on Saturday. The three consecutive defeats left the club without a single league point and pushed the management to make an early change.

Grosso had arrived during the summer after impressing with Sassuolo and was expected to bring renewed energy to a Fiorentina side that had invested heavily in its squad. Although the team managed an encouraging 4-1 Coppa Italia victory over Benevento, that result was unable to mask the problems emerging in Serie A.

The dismissal also marks another early-season coaching change for Fiorentina. The club had already experienced a similar situation last season when Stefano Pioli was dismissed in November 2025 after 14 competitive matches. Fiorentina must now move quickly to appoint Grosso's successor, with a league meeting against Venezia scheduled for September 11.

The immediate priority for the club is to restore confidence and stability before the poor start becomes even more damaging. Finding the right replacement will be crucial, as Fiorentina need a coach capable of improving results, rebuilding the squad's confidence and giving the team a stronger foundation for the remainder of the season.
